2007 Peace Grove

Initiated by Chattanooga's Sister City Association, the Peace Grove in Coolidge Park replaces the fallen elm tree with seven trees, each representing Chattanooga’s sister cities. Festivities will kick off with a special celebration of our oldest sister city - Hamm, Germany - and our newest - Gangneung, South Korea.

Mayor Willi Sosna will represent Hamm, Germany, in marking the 30th anniversary of the partnership between our two cities.

Representing Gangneung, South Korea, will be the Mayor, the Chair of the City Council, the head of the Chamber of Commerce, two officials from the International Department and the Korean consulate from Atlanta.

At 11:30, Chattanooga's Cultural Ambassadors to our Sister Cities in other countries will perform (Chattanooga's Choo Choo Kids and The Tennessee Cloggers).
