A Small Act - June 23 at Create Here

Where: Create Here, 55 East Main Street

What: So you want to change the world but don’t know where to start? The film A SMALL ACT (http://asmallact.com/) proves that even small actions can make a big difference.

When Hilde Back sponsored a young, rural Kenyan student, she thought nothing of it. She certainly never expected to hear from him, but years later she does. Now a Harvard graduate and a Human Rights Lawyer for the United Nations, Chris Mburu decides to find the stranger that changed his life. Inspired by her generosity, he starts a scholarship program of his own and names it for his former benefactor. With clarity and grace, A SMALL ACT, bears witness to the ripple effect a single action can create.

After the film, author and speaker Sam Davidson, of Cool People Care, will lead an energetic discussion aimed at helping attendees find ways to make small but important differences in their own lives and communities. Blending humor with real-world issues and applications, attendees will leave with practical steps for having a positive impact, no matter where life takes them.

Time: 6:00 PM: Reception / 6:30 PM: Film screening / 7:45 PM: Discussion with Sam Davidson, founder of Cool People Care

Cost: $10 per person, includes film, reception and program
