The AEC offers two professional development workshops for teachers.  There is no cost to teachers.  Registration is limited.  Contact the Arts & Education Council to learn more.

Creative Writing Workshop
March 28, 2022

Teachers in grades 5-12 are invited to attend this one-day workshop that focuses on ways to teach creative writing in the classroom.  The workshop is led by guest writers from the Conference on Southern Literature.  Registration for the workshop includes tickets to the Conference and substitutes for Hamilton County teachers.

Future Focus Literacy Through Photography
June 18-22, 2007

Using photography as a hands-on tool, Future Focus develops and enhances students’ reading, creative writing, visual arts, science, and math skills as well as a greater sense of self.  In partnership with the Center for Documentary Studies in Durham, North Carolina, the AEC provides this weeklong professional development workshop  for teachers interested in implementing the program in their schools.
