ROBERT PENN WARREN (1905-1989) was a member of the Fugitive Poets and founding editor of The Sewanee Review. Warren's novel All the King's Men and poetry collections, Promises and Now and Then: Poems 1976-77 have all been awarded Pulitzer Prizes. Other honors include the National Book Award, the Bollingen Prize in Poetry and the National Medal for Literature. He was named the United States' first Poet Laureate in 1986. |
