MARSHA NORMAN is a playwright and novelist. In 1983, she won the Pulitzer Prize for her play Night, Mother. She also wrote the screenplay for the motion picture. Other plays include Getting Out, Sarah and Abraham and D. Boone. Her novel is The Fortune Teller. In 1991, she was awarded a Tony for her book and lyrics for the Broadway musical, The Secret Garden.
