Future Focus : Literacy through Photography

*Next Summer Workshop - June 2007* Future Focus is a hands-on program that uses photography to develop and enhance students' writing skills and sense of self. Students learn how to use the camera as a means of expressing themselves by describing their lives, their families, their communities, and their dreams. Through various assignments, students create a self-portrait, a family portrait, and a portrait of their dreams. A writing assignment accompanies each photograph. Throughout the program, students make interdisciplinary connections between subjects like writing, math, and science.

WORKSHOPS The AEC offers teacher training for the program each June. EXHIBITS A Future Focus exhibit is available to tour the community and is currently up at Memorial Hospital.
