Truck Farm Screens Thursday at Greenspaces!

by aec

The AEC's Back Row Film Series concludes Thursday with the documentary Truck Farm (6 p.m. at Greenspaces). Click here to watch the trailer.

Truck Farm is a whimsical 50-minute film about urban agriculture and a new generation of American farmers. After filmmaker Ian Cheney (King Corn) plants a garden in the back of his pickup truck, he and the Truck Farm set out to explore the rooftops, barges and windows that represent a new, improved way of thinking about how we get our food in the concrete jungle. Fair Share will be on site exhibiting Chattanooga's own truck farm!

The screening will be preceded by a potluck dinner and followed by a panel discussion about our local urban agriculture movement. Panelists will include Ann Keener from Slow Food Chattanooga, Melanie Mayo from Crabtree Farms, Jeff Pfitzer from Gaining Ground, and Joel Tippens from Fair Share Urban Gardens. Bring a potluck dish to share featuring at least one local ingredient and receive a free AEC FILM club card ($15 value). Beer will be provided by The Terminal Brewhouse. Admission is $15 per person. Call 423-267-1218 or go to http://www.backrowfilms.com/ to purchase tickets. Advance purchase is strongly recommended.
