CHARLES
WRIGHT is the winner of the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry.
He has published nearly a dozen books of poems, including Country
Music, The World of the Ten Thousand Things, Chickamauga, Appalachia,
Black Zodiac, which was awarded the Ambassador Book Award, and Negative
Blue. His honors include
the Edgar Allan Poe Award, the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize of the Academy
of American Poets, the Ruth Lilley Poetry Prize, and The National Book
Award. In 1998 he won The Los Angeles Times Book Prize and a National Book Critics Award.
