Ellen Douglas
ELLEN DOUGLAS is the author of the novels A Familyís Affairs, Where the Dreams Cross, and Canít Quit You, Baby.  Her short stories are collected in Black Cloud, White Cloud.  She has received two Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers presented her with the first Hillsdale Prize for Fiction in 1989.  In 2000 she received a literature award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
